Illustrative estimate for planning and quoting practice. Final containment sizing must follow the facility's SPCC Plan or applicable regulations (often certified by a Professional Engineer), and your price should reflect surface prep, thickness spec, access, travel and local market rates.

How sizing works

Required volume = largest tank × design capacity, plus the volume other tanks displace below the wall height. Divide by the floor area to get the liquid height, then add freeboard.

How area works

Coating area = floor + inside face of all walls + wall tops. Add extra for outside faces, penetrations, pipe supports and tank pads when they’re in your scope.

How to price

Build your rate from materials at the specified thickness, primer, prep labor, spray labor, travel, equipment cost and profit. Prep-heavy jobs deserve a separate line item.

This estimator is a planning aid. Containment capacity and design for a regulated facility must follow its SPCC Plan or applicable rules, and are often certified by a Professional Engineer. 1 cubic foot = 7.48 U.S. gallons.
